The garden at Das Matscher is much more than just a green space – it is a place to arrive, unwind, and simply enjoy the moment. Nestled among the vineyards above St. Michael in Eppan, the Mediterranean garden combines tranquillity, nature, and beautiful views to create a truly special holiday experience.
Between olive trees, cypresses, roses, oleanders, wild vines, and colourful flowering plants, spacious sunbathing lawns spread across several levels invite you to relax and leave everyday life behind. Comfortable loungers, parasols, and sunny terraces provide the perfect setting to unwind. Whether you’re enjoying a good book, a glass of South Tyrolean wine, or simply admiring the vineyards stretching towards the Dolomites, everyone will find their own favourite spot.
To the south, the garden blends seamlessly into our own Pinot Blanc vineyard. This close connection between the hotel, the garden, and viticulture is part of what gives Das Matscher its unique character. During our regular wine tours, you’ll gain fascinating insights into South Tyrolean wine-growing and have the opportunity to taste wines produced from our own vineyard.
To round off the day, our barbecue area is available by prior arrangement, offering the perfect place to enjoy a relaxed evening outdoors with family or friends.

Our barbecue area is available by prior arrangement. For a small service charge, we provide charcoal, crockery, glasses, and barbecue utensils, and take care of the cleaning afterwards.
