Refreshing Swimming

Good to know

Lake Caldaro is just 8 km from Das Matscher and is one of the warmest bathing lakes in the Alps. Well-maintained lidos, pedal boats, stand-up paddleboarding, sailing, windsurfing, and kitesurfing make it the perfect destination for a varied summer’s day.

The southern shore of Lake Caldaro is a protected nature reserve and one of South Tyrol’s most ecologically valuable wetland habitats.

The Large and Small Monticolo Lakes are nestled within a protected woodland and are renowned for their excellent water quality. In addition to two lidos, there are numerous freely accessible bathing spots where you can step straight into the water from the forest and enjoy a swim surrounded by nature.

A popular circular walking trail links the two lakes and leads through the shady woodland. The Monticolo Lakes are easily reached from Das Matscher by car or mountain bi
