Das Matscher is perched above St. Michael in Eppan, nestled among vineyards at the foot of the Mendola Mountains – the perfect base for your holiday on the South Tyrolean Wine Road. Its peaceful setting combines relaxation in the heart of nature with excellent accessibility. At the same time, Bolzano, Caldaro and Merano are all just a short drive away, making Das Matscher the ideal starting point for exploring South Tyrol.
Arrival by car is straightforward via the Brenner Motorway to the Bolzano South exit. From there, Das Matscher can be reached within a few minutes via the MeBo expressway towards Merano, taking the Eppan exit. Complimentary garage parking is available on site, while electric vehicles can be charged at our charging stations for an additional fee.
Travelling without a car is just as convenient. Bolzano and Merano railway stations offer excellent rail connections, with regular bus services and taxis providing easy access to Eppan. Bolzano Airport also offers a convenient gateway to South Tyrol thanks to its growing number of direct flight connections.
Thanks to its central location, Das Matscher is the ideal base for exploring South Tyrol. Hiking areas, bathing lakes, charming villages, and many of the region’s most popular attractions are all within easy reach. Enjoy short travelling distances while relaxing in the peaceful surroundings of South Tyrol’s picturesque wine-growing landscape.
Good to know
During your stay, you will receive the South Tyrol Guest Pass (Mobilcard). It gives you free use of public transport throughout South Tyrol, allowing you to reach many attractions and excursion destinations comfortably without a car.
Travel comfortably by train to Bolzano or Merano, both of which offer regular bus connections to Eppan. Alternatively, you can reach Das Matscher easily by taxi. We are always happy to help you plan your journey or advise you on the best travel connections.
